Are You "illegal or undocumented" in Mexico? (Immigration Regularization Program)


¿Are you in Mexico and have lost your immigration documents, are they expired or are you without any documents in Mexico? Do not be afraid, even despite your inability to prove your immigration status. You are nonetheless protected by the Constitution of the United Mexican States, to which you are a creditor by the mere fact of being physically in the territory of Mexico.
Currently, the Immigration Procedures Handbook provides for the regularization of foreign immigrants. For presenting the processed we require, among others, the following requirements:
Current Passport.
·  Expired immigration document (In case you have one).
·  Statement before the public prosecutors office  denouncing the theft or loss of your document, or letter of the INM (National Immigration Institute) stating the cancellation of said documentation.
·  Concise and cronological written explanation on how you incurred in your irregular immigration status.
·  You must also comply with the requisites of the immigration status you are seeking to regularize, sucha as marriage certificate, degrees, diplomas, letters of labour, Identification credentials, etc..
·  You must also make the pay the government fees (derechos), and financial penalties that the Institute will apply for the irregularity incurred.

Also please note that the Secretary of the Interior through the National Migration Institute has on occasion implemented special programs that facilitate the regularization process, so that you can again have a valid immigration document that allows you to work and live in Mexico without any problem.
